If you’ve ever stayed at an Aman Resort, you know that they have anything and everything you could ever want…and if for some reason they don’t have it, they will get it. But here is a short list of what’s available. Dining, bars, beach club, beach shop, swimming pools, library, game room, gallery, multimedia screening room,  fitness center, pilates studio, spa, yoga, nature discovery center, tennis clubhouse, WiFi, private chef and staff for villas.

  • toothbrush & toiletries
  • resort wear
  • swimwear
  • detangler if you have long hair (the salt water did a number on mine)
  • mosquito repellent
  • sunscreen
  • sandals
  • a pair of heels for dining
  • the resort should have anything you forget to bring

The ocean is very salty and can seriously tangle your hair. I recommend bringing some leave in conditioner and braiding your hair before going in the ocean for long amounts of time.

There are mosquitos. Don’t forget to wear insect repellent at night.

It can get very windy, creating strong currents in the ocean. Be careful when participating in water sports.

The property is very serene and quiet. For large groups I’d recommend getting a villa (instead of separate pavilions) so that you do not disturb other guests.

 Amanyara makes a killer mojito

Amanyara Villas

Whenever you go to the beach or pool, they automatically bring you fresh towels and a bucket of ice cold water bottles.

The architecture of the resort is exquisite. There are lagoons everywhere.

There seemed to be 5 staff members per every one guest, so you never wait or want for anything.

They have a way of making you feel as if you are the only guest at the resort. It never feels crowded and you rarely see anyone else.

Amanyara offers some very unique and luxurious dining options. Of course, you can’t go wrong dining at their oceanfront restaurant which provides a romantic tropical setting, delicious food, and impeccable service. But how about their private dining options? For starters, each villa comes with a chef whose cooking might be the most wonderful asian fusion you will ever taste. They seem to know just how important the dining atmosphere is to their guests and the staff spends at least an hour on the set up alone. Tiki torches, candles, you name it, it was was there. If you book a pavilion and not a villa, do not fret. You can book a private beach dinner that they set up outside of a magnificent oceanfront villa which you will get full use of for the evening, including the pool and tiki hut looking out over the beach and sunset. Too good to be true? Not at Aman. If you can dream it up, they can do it.
