Hot off the press from Coronado, California
I live in a beach town where I ride my bike far more than I use my car. This is why I’m so excited to tell you about my new luxury bike – the Materia Bikes Beach Cruiser. I was looking for something unique and I have found it, this has to be the ultimate in luxury cycling! The bike frame is hand crafted in Europe from ash wood, and takes about two weeks to make.
In the same way that each tree is unique with it’s own grain or fingerprint, each Materia luxury bike is truly one-of-a-kind – no two bikes are exactly the same. The wood frame is surprisingly lightweight and more flexible than a metal bike. This means it absorbs vibration for a really comfortable ride.
I took the bike to the beach where it turned so many heads! I was literally stopped every five minutes by someone who wanted to see the bike up closer and ask questions about it. This is such a beautiful creation and quite unlike any other bike you will have seen. In fact, I understand some of these bikes have been mounted as pieces of artwork.
Materia Bikes has recently started bringing these bikes to North America and they offer many different options. There is the beach cruiser, there are women’s and men’s city bikes, the edgy fixie, and the road bike. I am hoping to be able to try out some of their other luxury bikes in the next couple of months. You can find out more about the bikes, including pricing, here and use this registration code MBSD2017 to enter the digital showroom.
