Hot off the press from the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney, Australia
Shangri La Hotel Sydney View

Sydney has dozens of luxurious hotels in the heart of the city. However, only one can take your breath away, with the Sydney Harbour views right outside your guest room window. I was recently given the opportunity to spend a night gawking out the windows of Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel. Although it was only one dreamy night, this hotel had so much to offer. In case I haven’t said it enough, the views are unbeatable.

Here’s my experience marveling at the Sydney Harbour views from the boutique Shangri-La Hotel

In a vibrant and busy city, the Shangri-La Hotel serves relaxation on a silver platter. As you walk in you will immediately notice touches of Asian influences. Although the design can be described as clean and minimalist, it demands your attention. Modern chandeliers, splashes of color, and vibrant art collections – all create the luxurious feeling of serenity.

One of this hotel’s largest reasons for hosting such a peaceful and relaxing escape is the Chi Spa. The menu of offerings are common practices found in various Asian cultures. These practices are reflected across Shangri-La’s full portfolio of hotels around the world. As one of the purest spa’s I’ve been to, Sydney’s Chi Spa uses only natural ingredients derived from plants, minerals and oils. After a long day exploring the city, this is the perfect place to relax before enjoying those Sydney Harbour views from the comfort of your plush bed. If you are looking to experience next level luxury, request one of the spa suites that includes an infinity-edge tub.

One of this hotel’s highest luxuries is the Altitude restaurant- located 36 levels above the rocks. This is one of the only restaurants in Sydney to offer incredibly close views of the harbour while maintaining an award winning dining experience. The Blu Bar also floats high above Sydney on the 36th floor. The cocktails alone were some of the most innovative and creative cocktails I have ever had. Crafted by a talented group of mixologists, enjoying a cocktail with the Sydney Harbour views is a must. With cleverly thought out cocktail names such as “Cherry Cherry Bang Bang” and “Coco-Jello Loco”, you may just need to have two! If you really get inspired, the Blue Bar offers cocktail classes for groups between 6 to 20 aspiring mixologists. Learn how to make these innovative cocktails anywhere! However, you will definitely be back for the breathtaking views!

I was greeted with a massive double rainbow heading straight into the Sydney Opera House. It was an absolute vision!

Views, views and more views. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and dazzling city lights are just a few of this city’s iconic landmarks. Each of these views is magnificent in the 565 spacious rooms and suites at Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel. Walking through the front doors, you will instantly want to drop your luggage and cozy up in the window seat. Maybe even add a glass of wine while you enjoy watching the scurry below. From nightfall to sunrise, you won’t want to miss a second staring at the glorious Sydney landscape from the comforts of your own bed.

Each and every room at the Shangri-La Hotel offers incredible Sydney Harbour views.

Sydney Harbor Views

The absent desire to leave the stunning views from your bedroom will come as no surprise. However, Sydney is one of the most vibrant cities in Australia and it’s definitely worth exploring on the ground level. Conquer your fear of heights and get a different perspective of those Sydney Harbour views you’ve been staring at. Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most exhilarating experiences you can have in this city. If you are planning your trip in May or June, make sure you book this experience in the evening during the Sydney Light Show. Watching the city at this height convert into vivid lights, colors, and shapes is a stunning spectacle.

If you are looking to cuddle with a Koala bear, a visit to the Taronga Zoo is a must. Plus, traveling by ferry is another iconic adventure that will provide a different perspective of those famous Sydney Harbour views.

Tour the iconic Sydney Opera House, experience the culture and food at Sydney’s Chinatown or take surfing lessons on Manly Beach. With the incredible number of things to do in Sydney you will find yourself trying plenty of new things and craving more of the vibrant culture of Sydney, Australia.

There is never a dull moment exploring this wonderful city at the ground level. However, knowing you can escape to relaxation without having to leave the glorious Sydney Harbour views is one of the biggest perks yet.
